I’m proud to present you with the best photos of the Olympics… well, that’s surely a joke.
It’s true that these photos have a big help from the TV team in Sochi… But on the other hand, I framed them, I chose the moment, while they were skating or the images were in movement… I didn’t simply copy the television image, but framed them, from the image passing in front of my eyes, LIVE, as far as time is concerned. That is special for me, because painting has nothing to do with time, it’s the opposite, it’s beyond time. Of course for photographers this is obvious, but for me it was a first experience, of what it must feel like for the photographers to be able to make such good photos of a moment, an action and a story unique, in a unique moment — I mean their good photos, images and film.
The TV superb cameras and the beautiful colours contributed to this art-moment, in which even something I don’t like (sport), became art, and it’s beauty revealed itself to me.
(PLEASE DO NOT REPUBLISH these images. They have a personal private value to me. Thanks)
